WisCon next year for sure

But not this one. Alas.

To make up for it, I'm taking a four-day vacation to NYC sometime in the last half of June, all by myself. I'm thinking during the week of June 20, because I'd like to see the New York Classical Theatre do Richard III in its roving-around-Central-Park fashion. But if there's anything else coming up in NYC in late June, or ( Read more... )

I don't know; waiting in line for hours on a limited vacation doesn't sound that appealing to me. OTOH I suspect I'll be in town on weekdays so maybe if I pick my day right, I'd be able to get a ticket without waiting too long? What do you think?

I've got to disagree on that. Of course you've got to budget your vacation time as best as possible, but the years I've actually been able to spare the time to wait on line, the line waiting was as fun as the show.

There's something really enjoyable about sitting in the park for hours with friends, as long as you bring blankets/chairs, board games, music, and books. It's a New York bonding experience, and there's really nothing else like it.

I have to highly recommend it!

Edit: Also, I hadn't checked the NYCT schedule yet, and you just made my day by telling me that they're doing my beloved Richard III. Yay!

Well, I'll just have to wait and see what things look like then. I may be in the mood for that kind of thing by that point, who knows?

But if there's anything else coming up in NYC in late June, or later in the summer, that I shouldn't miss (theater, concerts, museum exhibitions, whatever), do let me know.

I don't know of anything, at least I don't know at present.

However, if you're not opposed to it, I imagine leighdb and richboye are as interested in doing a Forsaken Coffee Hour (or perhaps dinner) as I would be.

Great! We have time to figure out the plan, so I suppose we'll figure it out once the summer draws closer.

I've never read or seen it, just know of it from _The Daughter of Time_ and _The Dragon Waiting_, so it should be interesting!
