Heroes

So, if I've seen the last two episodes, finding them a bit heavy-handed and predictable (well, tonight's) but on the whole enjoyable, is it worth going back and watching the rest of the season? Especially given the issues people have had with the show's treatment of race and gender? (I've been reading people's spoiler posts pretty well ( Read more... )

I actually think the last two episodes have been weaker than the average, though to be fair I don't know how much of my pleasure in the older ones was dependent on me not being spoiled.

Yeah, since I've been spoiled I'm leaning against it; see next rock, and thanks. (Weirdly, I think that hearing that these were weaker is contributing to the leaning against.)

I love Heroes. It's one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I cannot stand Buffy.

I thought Firefly was quite good though.

Heavy-handed and predictable it is throughout

Thanks. Some of it I liked, but it might get on my nerves on a whole season (especially sucked down in a short period). Leaning against it for now; see next rock.

I'd say it's worth watching. Maybe it depends on who these people were that had the issues, and how far you think their judgement of these things might match yours. I didn't have a problem, but then I'm insensitive.

Match fairly well, I think, but thanks for your view. (More thoughts, with spoilers, next rock.)

Well, I think if you found the last two on a whole enjoyable, you'd enjoy the rest of the season. Some of the strongest episodes have actually been the middle ones; these past two were rather weak, imo.

I think the show isn't so good with gender (and doesn't realize it), but it is making a conscious effort with race, albeit stumbling a lot. I give it a lot of flack, but honestly, most other shows on TV aren't even trying with race; I just don't give them flack for POC portrayal because there are no POC.

The first few eps. of the season are also rather heavy-handed and predictable, then it gets pretty good around eps. 7-10, then it slows down a little. I think my favorites are Company Man and Five Years Gone and Six Months Ago. Though I'm also not sure how fun it will be if you know the plot twists.

Hmm. Maybe I'll just watch those episodes (online, right?), because I'm leaning against watching the whole thing (see next rock). Thanks.
