Yeah, but it seems rude to say, "Hi, like your book, but this looks like an inconsistency . . . ?"

Put that way, yes, it does seem a bit off. :)

She does take questions, though, and there was one other inconsistency that she handled with aplomb.

Someone here might have a response for it; it might be a historical thing that I didn't know about.

She mentions elsewhere in the book that both the aviators and the navy are under the admiralty. No explanation given; that's just how it is. Thank ghu I finished the book today; maybe I can get something done tomorrow.

I'm so glad you recalled that; I was thinking the same, but didn't feel confident that I wasn't somehow making it up in order to reconcile the discrepancy!

Thanks--and now that I think about it, I think all the battles mentioned in book 1 were support for naval battles. I wonder if this parallels the development of air forces in our time, first engaging only over sea--out of concern for civilians?
