*hugs*

I'm so pleased all of this is sorting itself out, and that after LM has had his nooks and crannies checked out, that no one in the family will need to go near a hospital for a long, long time. :D

As to a cause, does LM spend a lot of time sitting down with his knees bent? Or driving long distances without a break, or flying? They're usually some of the most common triggers for emboli that cause people to end up 'wired for sound' in an ICU. You've probably been asked that over and over again, so apologies for adding to the refrain.

However, sometimes these things just happen, and as sucky as that is for an explanation, that's just how it goes.

BTW - Thank you for the scorecards. ;)

Hee ~ I actually had you in mind when I put in the technical bits. :D

He does have a sedentary job, but isn't strapped in or anything. At least, not that he's mentioned... ;D And he's had no long trips anywhere that might have led to deep vein thrombosis.

The doctors are sifting through the blood tests now...

So glad he's doing okay! You must be so relieved, thanks for letting us know.

Quite relieved ~ though I'll feel lots better if/when we discover what caused all these clots to begin with.

Thank YOU for your kind thoughts ~ it was so lovely to know we had someone in our corner!

Tif and I both breathed a sigh of relief when we read this post. She hasn't been on LJ for quite some time, but I informed her about the last post so she's been worried too. I did some checking on line when I found out what was wrong with him, and oh, yeah, majorly worried for all of you.

I hope the rest of the year is a lot better for you. Your family has had more than enough to deal with.

Me too -- on all counts.

{{{hugs}}} to you and Tif ~ knowing you guys were thinking of us really did help.

2010: the Year of the Hospital. Didn't realize that was one of the Chinese New Year options. ;D

What a scary ordeal! I'm so glad for you and LM that he's been released and that things are looking up! I hope this never happens again!

I'm right there with you on the "never happens again" front. Still, it could have been so much worse... *shudder*

{{hugs}} you!
