I went to Walmart this morning to grocery shop and ran across a bin of DVDs marked down to $5.88 each. Yeah, a lot of it was junk, but here's what I bought:

Oooo, I love Man from Snowy River! And the sequel, too. I wish Sigrid Thornton was working over here and not in Australia.

She did some TV series set in the old, wild West back in the '80's, but that was it as far as I know. Return to Snowy River isn't out yet on DVD and someone ripped off my VHS copy. I love Man From Snowy River...sigh....and I cried when Denny (the horse) died in the sequel.

I once saw a movie based on Pre, but I think it was a made-for-TV flick. Hold on, I'll dash to IMDB and check. Nope, that was the movie I saw. I got sucked in and that was that. Man, what a sad ending for him, though.

I know the ending, which is why I'm about to sit down and watch American Flyers. I want happy. At least I hope it has a happy ending. If I'm unhappy, well, I'll pull out The Unnatural and feel much better.

I got a couple of those extra-cheap DVDs from Wal-Mart last week, too - Grand Canyon and The Truth About Cats and Dogs.

Then, while at Target the other night, I noticed they had some for $5.88, too, so I got Dirty Dancing: The Collector's Addition.

Gotta love bargain DVDs! *g*

Dirty Dancing, the Collector's Edition?!?!

Oh my, one of my biggest, guilty pleasures is that movie when it comes on TNN. Thanks, Kris, for the heads up. I must swing by the Target in Centerville and see if they've got them there. Now, if only I could find Moonstruck for that price. ;)

Well, this is all too late, but I thought I would reply anyway. American Flyers is kinda bittersweet. But I'm a sucker for a good bike race movie (all two of them). ;)

Moonstruck is only available in Pan and Scan! Horrors! You should be able to find it for under $10 (it's hovering around $10 on-line), but I keep hoping for an extra special edition with widescreen.

love, lore
