Well done on your sucessful detective work. I've been working on my family tree (with my mum) and I understand how exciting it is when something new is uncovered.

The child mortality issue is a scary one. It gets to the point where I assume that most families will have lost at least one child and it's easy to forget how dreadful it must have been for them. Don't even get me started on the First World War and the devestation that did to branches of our tree.
