I know, totally crazy right? We totally grew up on the guy, he had a huge influence on my exposure to musical artistry while growing up and had a huge influence on music and dance in general. We might not have some of the things that are so popular in todays society if it wasn't for his influence. He reunited and brought back into collaboration music and dance together where the artform had been dead and musical dance performances hadn't been seen in many years except in old movies or on broadway, but he breathed new life into an old artform and made it look cool and popular again. His performances were unlike any other artist out there because he didn't just sing, he told dramatic even epic stories through the combination of music, dance, and theatrical drama. Regardless of what people might think about him, whether or not he had done the things he had been accused of, I'm still a fan, and I doubt that we'll ever see another artist as talented as he was, or do as much for music and dance. He truly was the King of Pop.
I know ... I was freaked out too when I first heard. Now it's been all over the news, and they've discussed just about everything from what kind of toothpaste he used to what the president thought of him.
*sighs*
His music was in the soundtrack of my life ... I just wish his private life had stayed private ... and a little less weird.
