I think a key point in what's happening to Tim is that line about Dick being "fearless, effusive, and full of grace"-grace in all the many senses of the word, not just beautiful in motion. Fearless, as in he loves flying and he walked around the tiger cages without alarm. Effusive, as he can't help pouring out his emotions, especially his passions and affections-and Tim holds everything in. Dick would be addictive, indeed. Magnetic
