In honor of
monkeycrackmary's birthday (*waves to Mary in case she sees this entry*), I present a rambling essay about Jason Todd.
I bought, a little while ago, the trade of A Death In The Family. I have yet to read it. Because PAIN and ow and I love my boy.
(
He's a punk, and he's Robin, and even though Bruce will never quite get it, that's the *same fucking thing*. You do what you have to, you take care of everyone you can, especially the oppressed (and the cute), you live as clean as you can, you move as fast as you can. )

"in case she sees this entry"? Dork. You = dork. The internet's not big enough for two people saying things this lame, and I was here first, so quit it. :P
OH JASON. OH STEPH. This post makes me kick my legs and want to re-read the Red Hood arc, because you summed it up so well.

Someday I will finish that story. I have faith!
Well, I wasn't *sure*! You have been busy lately with your demon hunters and interviews and also school.
:P
*hugs you*
THEY ARE LOVE MARY. THEY ARE LOVE. As well you know. :D
I actually stopped writing this post so I could go hug my few and far between post-Crisis pre-death Jason issues and also Under the Hood vol. II.

I just want clench my fists and shake them and dance around and cry.
Jason's not the bad Robin, he's the Robin who was done bad by. He did everything out of love, even when it was wrong.
I think the fact that Bruce refuses to love him anymore hurts Jay more than the Joker still being alive.
War Crimes is only worth looking at for the fact that Bruce truly seems sorry for what he did to Steph.
I'm going to memory this, so that I can come back and read it and shake it in people's faces when needed.

Love and fun and justice, yes. He wasn't a bad Robin anymore than Steph was, and *she* was the kind of Robin Bruce needed.
YES. To steal and paraphrase a summary from Te... Jason's in love, and all's fair.
To Jason, that Joker still lives is kinda like *proof* that Bruce doesn't love him. I don't think he's mad that he died, really, he knew he was going to die someday. I think he's mad that he was murdered and unavenged.
Steeeeeeeeeeeeph. STEPH. Oh, Steph, my heart.
*blushes* Yay! I hope it gets the effect across.
