WELL guys, I'm awfully sorry about the week's break. All I can say is that I was really wiped out last week and didn't feel up to doing a snark. BUT NEVER FEAR, for here is the next chapter! And as a special bonus for the extra week of waiting, there's extra drawings in this!

But before we start, I offer both an accurate sum-up of everything in Read more... )

... BEARS?
wow.

also I love how she keeps saying things like "Again, he was leaving the choice up to me" - it's like someone said to Meyer, hey, this dude is a bit creepy and controlling isn't he, and she was like OH NO! I SHOULD MAKE IT CLEARER THAT HE GIVES BELLA A CHOICE SOMETIMES!! HE IS THE PERFECT MAN GUYS WHY CAN'T YOU SEE IT!

I KNOW, RIGHT?

Either they just have really sissy bears in Washington or Edward is LYING. I'm sure of it.

AND YEAH I NOTICED THAT TOO. WTF???? MEYER, YOU ARE A SCARY SCARY WOMAN. It's true that Edward loosened up a bit in this chapter, but it WAS forced.
She just can't write a consistent character to save her life.

Maybe Meyer's got the wrong idea about bears. Maybe she's thinking Pooh or something.

Really, REALLY forced. Like she added that in and felt she needed to emphasise it. WTF. D8; She really can't, can she?

Maybe. I mean, damn, has she ever SEEN a bear? I vote Meyer should watch that Grizzly Man movie.

EXACTLY.
I swear, I could even learn to like creepyposessive!Edward if only he was done justice in writing. I'd even like BELLA if she was done justice in writing.
But instead of purposefully giving her characters these flaws and actually... you know, developing them, she's still trying to pull off that OMG THESE CHARACTERS R PERFECT AND IN LUV.

I would be more impressed if I didn't know you can often scare off mountain lions by holding your jacket out.

Again, your illustrations make it immeasurably more bearable. Especially Edward's expressions.

Yeah. Bears though? Bears would still kick their collective patootie.

I actually had so much fun drawing Edward's faces, it's not even funny. Particularly his VERY CONCERNED expressions.

Oh, totally. Bears are the badasses of the Animal Kingdom. Well, bears and wolverines.

Also, this struck me after a little while: at least classically, Dionysus is exactly the right Greek god to compare Eddie-boy to. He was more a god of excess of all types than just wine, he was usually depicted as a beautiful young man, and he had his own rather bloody fanclub.

*flings her tablet pen away, slams her head down on her desk, gathers her painstakingly-developed, flawed, and generally non-HAWT characters to her bosum and sobs brokenly*

There, there, it's all right. I felt the same way...well, actually I wanted to take a gun to my head, but it's close enough.

In other words, a drunken teenager on a camping trip who leaves candy bars lying around and is then surprised when the bear shows up to bitchslap him.

I fell out of my chair laughing when I read this. That's one of the best things I've ever read.
