WELL I am updating a bit late, but I know that if I break schedule once, I will break it AGAIN, my friends. Not updating on Saturday is a GATEWAY DRUG. It can lead to worse things ( Read more... )

It's like Meyer WANTED us to make that connection.
Seriously, now I'm like... picturing her sitting in her room and hugging her pillow, thinking about her clever Teen Girl Squad tribute and wondering forlornly if ANYONE WILL BE HIP ENOUGH TO NOTICE IT.
Well, I think I have made her dream come true, and really, that just makes me feel better about myself as a person.

And anyone who thinks this is mean of me is just a sparkling goatsucker.

The one thing that really pissed me off in this chapter was how she treated poor Mike. She has been all BAAAAAAWWWWW NOBODY LIKES ME HERE for the whole darn book. And someone asks her out, and she is like "no go away you can have Jessica, I'm too good for you." A friend and I are going through this book doing what you are doing, and I crossed out that page. Its the whole point why I hate Bella so much, she acts disliked and when people show any liking of her she runs them off to be with the HAWT vampire!

And that whole thing about only women cooking may have to do with the fact that Meyer is Mormon, no offense to any mormons out there, but I heard that she was and that may have been why. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I'm a devout Mormon, a strong feminist and a terrible cook. And I'm so bloody sick and tired of people assuming that I must love this misogynistic crap, just because I happen to be of the same religion as the author!

On a different note, could you tell me where you found those PDFs? I'm considering writing a detailed essay about the sexism in the Twilight-series, but for that I need to read the books properly. All of them. And I'm sure as hell not spending money on them!

Oh, that picture amuses me every time.

I think 'HAWT' is better. It gives a better description of what Bella's really thinking, and won't irritate the incomprehensibly tiny fraction of the Internet who don't know what you're referencing.

This is true.

I believe I will stick with HAWT, but SO GOOD will likely crop up from time to time.

Man, fangs and then PURRING?

For once, I was imagining a vampiric Ed! Then... nekomimi catboy Ed kneading on a blanket and purring. And sparkling.

-sigh-

Wow, I really liked all the little bits of realism here. So nice! Why can't she ALWAYS write like this? Laziness prevails?

But...

I ate slowly, chewing each bite with care. When I was done, I washed the bowl and spoon, dried them, and put them away. My feet dragged as I climbed the stairs. I went to my CD player first, picking it up off the floor and placing it precisely in the center of the table. I pulled out the headphones, and put them away in the desk drawer. Then I turned the same CD on, turning it down to the point where it was background noise.Boring ( ... )

AHAHAHA I want a sparkling vampire cat. That would be so badass. People would walk in and be like "Wow, your cat is sparkling." and I'd be like "Yes. Also she is a vampire." and they'd just be like "Oh. *slightly awed silence*" and I'd just be like "C ( ... )

Whoohoo, vampire kitty!

Yes, this chapter is rather nice, but it doesn't save the book.

I loved those two lines. So cute and geniune. ^^

Because Edward is all that maaaattteeeeers. Blah.

No, it really doesn't. I still can't stand this book and even this chapter had huge portions of the usual crap. But it keeps having these little moments of goodness.

They're not good enough to save the book, they're just good enough to make me even sadder because it's obvious the book COULD have been good.

And yeah, 'cute and genuine' is a good way to describe both of those. They were very good!

Yeah, some bits of this were good but the heinous dullness that she seems to require to achieve it makes it ... less than worthwhile. Headdesk.

Yeah, yeah, this is very true and the entire chapter WAS pretty sull (especially that scene where it just talked about all the BORING-ASS STUFF Bella did all morning. Seriously that completely put me to sleep.

But it's still WEIRD, you know, dull or not, that her writing suddenly got BETTER for no apparent reason. I mean, it's obvious it's still HERS because all the annoying stuff she normally does is still there, but .... yeah. IT CONFUSES ME.

INTERMITTENTLY better, too! Because there are still a bunch of the usual WTF sentences like the one where she's talking about caring about Edward getting hurt or not caring about Jacob getting hurt or SOMETHING WHO KNOWS

Maybe someone has been helping her 8|

YEAH THAT'S THE THING.
She just had these occasional moments of goodness RANDOMLY INSERTED into a big pile of the usual dreck that made up all the last chapters. So yeah, like, I'm not even claiming that the whole chapter was a sudden work of brilliance or anything, if anything the random moments of decent writing made it even MORE disjointed because they made the bad ones seem even worse (and yeah wtf is up with that whole thing with the dream).

It's true, she might have had someone help her... but it's still weird when you think of the previous chapters where she just seems BLATANTLY AGAINST showing any character development or something.

But yeah. 8/ Believe me, I still hate this book but there was stuff I LIKED in this chapter that confused the hell out of me because it seemed so out of place.

In response to the fish question, as long as you freeze it, I think it's good for an incredibly long time. I have a friend from Alaska and in May of 07 she brought back a ton of fish and she used it for months, literally months. And my mother once told me that if you freeze deer meat it's good for a year. I don't know if that applies to all creatures though.
