Don't feed them after midnight!!!

(For those of you who are capable of making me feel old by saying "What's that?" when I talk about staples of my childhood -- and possibly for all of you who weren't in America when it came out, I'm referring to the movie "Gremlins" here. In the Gremlin movies, a gremlin is what you have to contend with if you break the rules of properly caring ( Read more... )

Glad to hear you're settling in. I'd be careful about using water on Spider. ;) Sorry you have to keep your feet covered.

I couldn't sleep in slippers. It nearly drove me nuts having to be in a cast when I broke my foot years ago. I can sleep in socks if my feet get too cold, but that's it.

She will grow out of pretty much all of that. My little kitty used to attack and bite my toes when he was a kitten too, until he learned that there were not toe-monsters under the blankets that he needed to protect me from. Hee. The bouts of insanity will probably never go away completely, but they get significantly less frequent. :)

i've had cats all my life (more than 30 years) but this is the first time I've woke up in the middle of the night in pain because one needed to protect me from the things that had attached themselves to my bottom paws :D

Betty (the other cat i currently own) has always been destructive but she never attacked me. Spider's a different animal, as it were. Adorable but man does she know how to get the adrenaline surging in the small hours, lol

i'm sure she'll always be insane, but that's part of a kitty's charm in my mind *pets her* As one of my flister's described Spider, she's "an adorable little harbinger of doom" ... what more can a girl ask for in a pet?

yay new place!

Have you tried bitter apple on your toes? Bitter apple was the only thing that would keep my kitty from eating my computer cables.

I hadn't considered bitter apple on my toes. I'll have to see if it works on the cords first, though. When Loki was a kitten, we smeared bitter apple on every cord in the house only to discover that Loki was this freak of nature who actually enjoys the taste of bitter apple. it cost us over $100 more than 15 years ago to replace all the cords he managed to destroy in one night. I want to make sure Spider isn't of Loki's ilk before I go putting bitter apple on my own body...

Oh my gosh. That was one of my favorite movies growing up! My first pet (a hamster) was named Gizmo! Hahahahaha. Oh Spider.... that definitely sounds interesting and may the force protect you! Well, perhaps you need a force feild, but ya know :P YAY for plants! Sounds like everything's going well!

i had a kitten named Gizmo once upon a time (well, she was my sister's and I wasn't supposed to play with her since she wasn't mine -- you know how little kids get, lol)

I'm going to need the Force. Possibly a Force Throw in addition to some kind of forcefield :D

things are going very well. i've actually even managed a little RP (Will/Magnus sweetness that looks like it could turn adult content at the rate it's going, if you're interested: http://community.livejournal.com/sixwordstories/42941627.html?thread=1306276539#t1306276539 )

how're you?
