But I think the number here already exceeds those in England. There is an estimated 30 millions fans here. England has slightly over 50 million people. To assume that everyone in England loves footcer is a gross miscalculation of Bushian proportions.

Most rugby fans, in fact, are not very big on the footcer. I'd say England, at best, has about 35 million foocer fans and 15 million who really don't care. And that's being generously low in the U.S. and generous high in England.

Yes, I was trying to be charitable in saying that we hadn't exceeded the number of fans in England as yet. But the intensity of US fans probably doesn't match England, and it's certainly not the same percentage of the population. And it probably never will be. But the point is that the US is not ignorant about the game, and there are a good many here that follow it as closely as any Englisher. High and mighty prigs.
