What Can I Do?

Set in the From the Soul to the Song universe.
“Wait please,” he cried, knowing that tears were running down his cheeks and there was nothing that he could do to stop them. “Don’t leave me. I’ll do anything.” He didn’t know when he had grown desperate enough to offer that, perhaps it had been the moment Kibum had looked at him and spoke those fatal words.
“There isn’t a thing you can do,” Kibum told him, pity on his face. “With Eunhyuk dead, I just can’t stay anymore. You can’t give me what I need.”
The mention of the loss of the other third of their team sent a pain straight through his heart and he couldn’t help the sob of grief that escaped his lips. “Please Kibum,” he moaned, “please. Without you I can’t - I don’t - I won’t be able to live,” he cried.
“I’m sorry Donghae,” Kibum said and he could feel the pity in waves but none of the love that he normally felt rolling off the man, it was as if it was gone.
“I’ll die,” he whimpered, knowing that the heartache alone would kill him. “When you leave I’ll die.”
“Don’t say that Donghae, I’m not going anywhere,” was the response that didn’t match what he was feeling or the expression on Kibum’s face.
“Shh, we’re hear Donghae, we aren’t leaving,” a voice that he had never thought to hear again said.
“Hyukjae?” he called surprised and confused.
“That’s right Donghae, we’re here, open your eyes,” came the soothing murmur.
Confusion rolled in him and all at once everything made sense. He closed his eyes, letting the sight of the Kibum who was willing to walk away fade until it was nothing as he sought out the emotions of the men beside him. Love surrounded him pulling him from slumber into wakefulness with a gentle tug. His eyes, when he opened them at last were wet with tears and he immediately saw Kibum and Eunhyuk, one on either side of him looking down at him.
“You were dead,” he choked out, curling on his side into Eunhyuk’s body.
The other man held him close, smoothing a hand through his hair. “I’m right here. You’re safe I’m here.”
Kibum pressed firmly against his back so that he was sandwiched safely between them. “It was just a dream Donghae. Just a dream. We aren’t going anywhere.”
He must have been talking in his sleep, he realized, for them to know as much as they seemed to. “If you leave me, I…” he let his words trail off, not wanting to say what he knew would happen to him.
“It would kill us to leave you,” Kibum agreed, feathering kisses over the back of his neck and line of his shoulder. “We could never bring ourselves to do it, let alone want to. We love you Donghae. You feel that. We aren’t leaving.” Donghae didn’t say anything in response beyond a small whimper. Knowing was one thing, but the dream had felt so real it was difficult to shake.
“I think we need to remind him,” Eunhyuk murmured, and there was humor rolling off him along with deep affection as well as the beginnings of arousal.
“I can’t think of anything I would rather do,” Kibum agreed, spreading his hand down Donghae’s side and around between his legs.
Gasping Donghae threw his head back and groaned, not because of the physical sensations alone but because of the deep emotions he felt accompanying it.
“Maybe then he will be able to remember that we will never leave,” Eunhyuk murmured, leaning in to kiss Donghae’s exposed throat, his hand sliding down his lovers body to join Kibum’s. In response Donghae could only moan and do exactly as they wanted him too, bask in the wonderful sensation of their love.
