“What are you doing?” he murmured squinting through the soft light of the lamp beside his bed at the man who was lying on his stomach scratching away a piece of paper with a pencil.
“Writing a song, I was thinking for our new album,” the man replied not looking up from where the lyrics were slowly taking shape.
“At four in the morning?” he mumbled after glancing at the clock. “We have to get up for work in an hour.”
“It’s your fault,” the other man grumbled. “Besides how did you wake up anyway? You usually sleep like the dead.”
“Leader senses,” he answered, shifting closer so he could read the words on the page in front of his lover. “Mm,” he hummed, kissing the bare shoulder that was easily in reach before sliding a hand over the bare back. “How is this my fault?”
“Did you forget your hopeless romantic moment earlier?” the other man asked him.
“I’m not romantic and we are awkward together remember. Now shut the damn light off Youngsaeng, so we can get some sleep,” he grumbled.
“Just a moment,” was the answer as he scratched down a few more lines of the song.
‘Please breathe beside me for eternity, I love you,’ he read over Youngsaeng’s shoulder and he couldn’t help but snort. “Now who is romantic?”
“Who says it’s about you. I don’t see the name Hyunjoong written anywhere on this page,” he replied as he shoved at the leader and shifted to put the paper on the floor as well as turn off the light.
After a bit of shifting they settled together, Hyunjoong tucked against the vocalists side, their legs intertwined. “As long as I get to sleep I will breathe beside you for as long as you want,” he murmured into the other man’s chest.
The responding chuckle was warm as was the whispered, “I love you.” He didn’t have to say anything, so he didn’t bother as he drifted back to sleep. He knew the other man could feel the words anyway, an echo of what he had spoken softly only hours before.
‘For the rest of eternity, I love you.’
