“There is something I want to show you,” Sungjong informed them, tracing a pattern absently over Myungsoo’s bare chest. It was a mark of how far the vampire had come that he would even bother to take the time to inform them instead of simply doing what he liked.
“Alright,” Myungsoo consented, sitting up slowly. He knew he may as well give in since the vampire would do what he wanted with or without his permission.
“Stay,” Sungjong ordered, pressing firmly on his chest to push him back into the mattress. “I will take us.”
Myungsoo didn’t like the sound of that, since he hardly did well with surprises. He envied his mate who slept soundly on the other side of him. His instincts would never let him sleep that deeply around the other predator, but then again he didn’t trust near as easily as his mate seemed to.
The vampire hardly moved, simply staring at him with a small smile settling upon his face. Myungsoo felt the small tug a moment before it happened and he clenched his eyes shut, rolling over onto his stomach and fighting down his instincts that told him to fight, but thankfully the trip was over nearly before it had had begun.
The slender fingers that stroked down his spine did little to help him calm himself, but the wolf beside him that rolled closer allowed him to take a deep breath of crisp night air. “I hate it when you do that,” he growled. The vampire had transported them in that manner only one other time, an instant form of transportation that he hadn’t ever seen another vampire try. It was as if they were in one place one minute and another in the next. It upset his Beast immensely as it was an extreme lack of control for them, and the creature was still prowling restlessly in his mind.
“I know,” Sungjong purred, and he could hear the sound of a smile in the vampire’s voice. That alone should have alerted him to what was about to happen, but he was unprepared for the fangs that sunk into the back of his neck. His already thin hold on his Beast shattered, and they twisted together, snarling, trying to dislodge the perceived attack. Quicker than he could move and with much greater strength the vampire shifted and pinned him to the bed drawing deep mouthfuls of blood from quickly closing wound.
His brain went into panic mode, his body beginning the shift to the form it would be safest in even as he strained to push off the bed. The vampire had him pinned so thoroughly that he could hardly move and would likely need to tear the bed beneath him to shreds to free them.
Fingers closed over his hand that was already on its way towards a furred form and he froze. Sungyeol laid beside him, watching him quietly, a soothing presence that he could feel through his mate bond. “It’s okay Myungsoo,” Sungyeol murmured when he was certain he had the man’s attention. “Sungjong can’t let you go until you calm down. He was afraid you would hurt me.”
It was a lie and they all knew, could all likely smell it, but the words still made him still. He would never hurt his mate, they all knew that. He lived to protect not only a submissive in the pack, but the man that belonged to him. As if the Beast had realized the presence of their mate for the first time, it suddenly stilled. Their mate was calm, peacefully so and with the feeling of that some of the anger in his body seemed to vanish.
Logically he knew that he could never best the vampire in a fight. The creature was much older, stronger, and faster, but his instincts demanded that he not submit, not yet. Before long, he knew, it would come to blows between them if only so his instincts could calm and they could accept their place. Until then this constant struggle would likely continue.
“I can’t,” he growled, noting absently that his voice sounded less human and more of an animalistic growl in his half changed state.
“Sungjong,” Sungyeol said calmly.
He felt the vampire sigh against his neck just before they rolled onto their sides with the creature still pressed to his back. The strong arms of the creature were still wrapped around him and he knew logically that he didn’t have any greater chance of escaping this way then he had a moment earlier, but the Beast settled further at the change in position. Sungyeol scooted up against his stomach and he sighed.
Reversing half a change was possibly one of the hardest things he had done recently, but his body clearly did not want to stay in its half morphed state. Still it hurt enough to make him whine softly as he forced the Beast away and the animal side of himself with it.
When he was finished he felt the fangs pull free of his neck, and a tongue lapped at the lingering blood before it too disappeared. The instant the arms loosened on his body he growled and rolled forward, trapping Sungyeol on his back beneath him. The submissive wolf instantly relaxed under him, tipping back his head and offering his neck for Myungsoo’s light nip of possession.
His lips met his mates, feverish with the need to claim, the need to dominate, and Sungyeol opened beneath him, willing and eager. When he had finished taking his fill he pulled his head up to offer the vampire a glare. Sungjong was stretched out beside them uncaring of the venerability his position showed, and smirking at him.
“I hate it when you do that,” Myungsoo growled, knowing that it was far from normal for a vampire to be able to move anyone let alone a whole bed with them. Sungjong shrugged and turned his attention to the sky above him.
Sungyeol, whose gaze had followed the vampire’s, caught his breath as he looked above them. “Myungsoo,” he breathed, his voice filled with wonder. “Look.”
He couldn’t bring himself to roll onto his back, not quite yet, but he did turn his had a bit so he could see at least a portion of the sky. The sight his eyes focused on made him forget what it was that he had been going to say. He had never seen so many stars in his life, or with such clarity. The sight was almost magical, leaving him rendered speechless.
“It’s beautiful,” Sungyeol murmured, his hands moving absently over Myungsoo’s body as he stared above them.
Myungsoo grunted, “It is,” he couldn’t deny that fact.
“Sungjong wanted to share this with us,” Sungyeol reminded him, tearing his gaze away from the sky long enough to offer him a meaningful look.
He already knew he had over reacted, that he should have had better control then he did, but he had never taken well to being out rightly dominated and the vampire seemed to take a special pleasure in pushing all of his buttons. For some reason they seemed to be a huge source of amusement for the creature, yet he couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t stay away.
“Thank you,” he growled, hoping the words didn’t sound too forced, but when he turned his head to look at the vampire the creature was gone. “Damn vampire,” he snarled, uncertain if he was more angry at what had happened or the fact that the vampire had left without warning.
“Hey Myungsoo,” Sungyeol purred, arching up against him and sliding their naked flesh together. “Have you ever wanted to claim me on a mountain top under the stars?”
“I want to claim you everywhere,” he rumbled in response. “You are mine,” the possessiveness in his words made Sungyeol to moan out right and tip his head back in pleasure. “And if that damn vampire shows up now. I’ll kill him.”
Masterlist AN: I enjoyed this one in its conception but I'm not sure if I like it quite as much now. Ah well...
