I'm surprised by the requests I'm getting. xD So I bring another tutorial! This was requested by
heythereyazy. =)
Misty (Pokémon) icon (002!)
How to turn
this to
Program Used - ArtWeaver
Level - Easy & Transferable!
01! Resize the
original image to 180x135. Copy it then paste into your icon.
02! Kay, it looks a little plain so let's go to Brightness/Contrast and do Contrast 100.
03! Now, let's make good use of our Color Balance. :3
Midtones: 32 / 19 / 13
Shadows: 19 / -2 / 5
Highlights: 26 / 12 / 4
04! Okay, now let's Duplicate the layer of our icon then take
this pretty texture (made by
spooky_window). Paste it into the icon then use Layer Properties (I'm not sure what term is used in Photoshop; I use ArtWeaver ^^;) and do the following:
Blend: Darken
Opacity: 70
We should get something like this. Now, we're starting to get the effect. :3
05! Okay, the texture is making Misty look a little too faded so let's maker that pretty face of hers stand out! Go to Brightness/Contrast and do Contrast 100.
06! Now, let's turn our attention to this radial texture (made by
skelleton)
We're going to turn this into a light texture so do the following:
Midtones: 59 / -40 / -35
Shadows: 50 / -36 / -26
Highlights: 45 / 22 / -12
Now it'll look like this. :3
Now, all we have to do is blur it.
Gaussian Blur: 12.3
07! Now, let's copy our result and paste it onto the icon. We're going to do Layer Properties again so do the following:
Blend: Lighten
Opacity: 100
See how I moved it a little on her outfit to make the red stand out a bit? =)
08! Now, we're going to turn our attention to a lovely light texture made by
mangoninja We're just going to Flip Vertical to get this:
09! We're almost there! Let's paste the texture onto Misty. Let's hit Layer Properties again; be sure to do the following:
Blend: Lighten
Opacity: 100
Now, we got the texture blocking her cute face. So, we're going to move it to the right a little bit.
10! But still, we don't want the light at her face, so let's grab our Eraser (Size: 36 / Opacity: 55). We're going to erase a few of the lights away.
And we're done! =D I just noticed that in my icon post of Misty, I didn't include the red texture so we could have skipped that step. *shot* xD But it looks nicer now! 8D We have ourselves an emo!Kasumi. xDDD
So what did you guys think of this one? I hope the Layer Properties part wasn't too confusing. I know it has another name in Photoshop but forgot what it was. ^^; Or was it the same thing? *ponders to herself* Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! Comments are total love! I would love to see you guys try this out and see how it looks! :333
