And then we realised, 35 hours into the first play through, that we fucked up somewhere and couldn't get the final fusion monster. So we restarted the game anew, changed the names up a bit again, and after three 3-day sleepovers, we (butterflycages and I) finally beat Shadow Hearts I.

The only game where I changed the characters' names are FF7, and I gotta say, it was plenty distracting. I think I named Cloud "Homogay Chocobohead," Aeris was "Flower Girl Wink Wink" and Tifa was I think Boobuttus Maximus. It's the game where I tried to match up Barret and Cloud in the Gold Saucer date ahahaha.

I still have my PS2! I should play this (but where to find a copy?) I wasn't very impressed with its prequel, so it's probably why I didn't give it much thought (and again, blame FFX).

Oh god, speaking of matching up The Boys in a game--I totally tried getting Akihiko and Junpei together at one point or another during one of the full moons. For the lulz. XDDD

There should still be copies online--though if they ship overseas is something else to consider. Shadow Hearts is really only tied to the prequel's universe (and Koudelka gets a cameo). The actual gameplay is quite different, I believe.

I tried to play Shadow Hearts when it first came out for the PS2 but it was too intimidating for a spineless, 11-year-old Tony, so I never finished it........ but somehow, it all seems much less terrifying now.
