OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN. So I've been sitting on the finished product for almost 2 weeks now. 8D;; But I couldn't put them up without having posted the profiles for the two characters who appear in this short story either. And that took, well, 2 weeks obviously. Didn't really help that these "blurbs" are more like mini biographies, lol.
Inaho's agreed to take care of the new set of profile pics since I'm apparently in charge of writing everything else... OTL

Title: A Pinch of Kindness from Familiar Strangers
Series/Characters: Original/
Hei &
Riley (click the names for their TL;DR biographies profiles)
Rating: G
Pages: 13 (including the postscript)
Notes: Started this as a 5 paged paneling experiment. No dialogue. Somehow convinced myself that the pages weren't too awful, so why not expand on them? Ended up writing the script as I went along and if there's anything I've learned from this stint, it's to always start with a script. v____v;;; Was heavily influenced by shoujo-styled paneling in the beginning (rereading Skip Beat at the time). Then randomly thought to reread some Gintama doujin midway and that just tossed everything to hell. Err... wasn't planning on toning at first either, but OpenCanvas's preset tone brushes were just begging to be messed with.
Disclaimer: Pomoland and all its characters belong to
butterflycages and yours truly. If there are any questions regarding Riley's
eye condition or amnesia (i.e. why he can "remember" in dreams but not while awake), feel free to leave them here. I still have all the relevant chapters in my CogPsych book tabbed ;D
(A Pinch of Kindness takes place a little after Riley gets picked up by Hei.)

Here Last thoughts: Writing the script as I went along really didn't help with the flow, obviously. And in regards to page 7... um, I guess this is me trying to explain myself, but I can't. I really can't. At least he's not sucking it to the second knuckle?? orzzzz
Anyway, I really hate pages 1, 2, 4, 5, & 12. Especially page 5. Page 1 because it doesn't match the rest of the story at all and it'd kill me to have to repanel it; Page 2 because I DID repanel it; Page 4 because that window view is impossible even if they're in a high-rise building, and that kitchen counter makes no sense; Page 5 because, god, talk about major planning/layout fail; Page 12 because I had to ditch the original bottom panel.
Also. I AM NEVER NOT USING SOLID BLACK EVER AGAIN. ALDSKFJSDFH ;____; I wanted to shade with black so bad after like, 3 pages.
