The Last Supper
Ten years had passed.
Their gathering had become a ritual.
The number of those who shared in the celebration was fluid. Sometimes there were more. Sometimes less.
Always there were three.
They sat around the fire pit. Having broken bread together, they passed a bottle.
“Just look at that moon,” Ishay said.
With a grunt, Cottle flicked his cigarette into the flames. Roslin hated his vice. It was a fond memory.
Layne leaned into him. Sherman’s arm snaked around her, pulling her closer.
The three old friends looked upward.
“Yeah," Bill said. "Beautiful.”
She smiled down on all of them.
