a favorite (of yours that you've written) that nobody reads

I don't know why I keep thinking up this meme-type shit up, but there you go.

Writers for Lew/Hank (Callum Keith Rennie, David Duchovny) in CALIFORNICATION are few and far between. Is it maybe an age thing? I don't know, but these two had chemistry (a drugged, drunken, sarcastic, self-destructive chemistry, but whatever). I sat down with no real ( Read more... )

Don't know the 'verse, but I really liked the title/concept, playing off of the "fuck or die" trope. It was smoky: dark and hot *g*. And how awesome is it, when the damn thing pretty much writes itself?

The story that came to mind when I read your question is Two Sides of the Coin, an S&H story. It was written as part of the "Feedback Follies" challenge on the Me&Thee Yahoo Group. (Folks who wrote LOCs that month could get a story written for them, from a pool of volunteers.) Thought it turned out okay, the person I wrote it for gave me some very nice comments, and there were maybe one or two others; but otherwise, it barely made a ripple at the Group (I'm not talking here about my flisters that usually read my S&H stuff, bless their fangirl hearts *g*). Have no idea why--I had three betas and I'm sure they would have told me if it sucked; I trust them, if not myself. I think it's kind of ironic that a story written to encourage feedback hardly got any.

Well, it all comes down to people not really knowing the show, don't you think? I mean, the story is good, whether you know the show or not, but if you aren't going into it without knowing and loving Hank and Lew, I think you miss out-'cause, babes, you NAIL 'em. (Have I mentioned how much I love this piece?:))

I have a couple of favorites that are rarely commented on, at least (in comparison to other stories of mine), but they kind of don't have happy endings. I blame that.

you probably have something there. And me naming something 'fuck and die' doesn't even have the PROMISE of a happy ending:)
