I can't imagine what it feels like for you guys. We were stunned at work today, at the outcome and the implications and the sheer horror of the situation. ((Many hugs))

the Supreme Court appointees will ruin us. I'm sick. The man who is our next president is a repulsive misogynist, sexual predator and an egocentric con man. Every lie he told, every whining, ridiculous, racist, sexist, irrational, xenophobic comment-- it seemed people swallowed it whole or they just didn't care. I get that people have been left behind (my family included), that they are angry and tired of being worked over by politicians, but to ignore all that he represents is counter-intuitive and just goddamned obscene.

Effectively speaking.... it was an anti-establishment election and the anti-establishment candidate won. Unfortunately, said candidate is also an all-around asshole. :/

There isn't much I can say to be happy about. Today I've just spent a lot of time outside in the sunshine or with my dog. the ungrateful monster brat

I can see anger against the system and politicians as usual, but the grossness of Donald Trump toward women and the utter lack of empathy he seems to have for anyone else has shook me badly. It just feels like a terrible, terrible mistake to allow him in a position of power, and a repudiation of the value of so many other people. The more I see his behavior, the petulance and animosity and temperament, the more dread I feel. If we'd won a majority in Congress I'd feel less fear.

I agree. I kind of blame everyone bc the media should have shut him down IMMEDIATELY instead of giving him airspace, politicians should have stood up and not allowed him to be the nomination, heck, even Clinton's own team wanted him to be the nom so she could be in the general against him. And obvs. I blame the voters that chose him but like... yeah. It's kind of a "every single step of this has been a disaster" and just makes me really sad. It's going to be rough and I really hope it motivates people to vote in 2018. :/

Me? I did a little crying. Cracked some jokes, because that's how I deal. Grabbed the mister and held on for a good five minutes. Took some comfort in knowing this isn't a mandate; there's no majority (sheesh, not even a plurality). There are no more haters in this country than yesterday, though they're more empowered. But, there are no fewer kind and compassionate people than yesterday either, and we're pretty loud right now.

Peace and strength to you.

You've got a great mindset, and I appreciate you reminding me of the fact that the haters haven't grown in numbers, but they've been encouraged, maybe made to feel it's acceptable, and that's horrible. Still I need to try and think more positively than I have. Easy to focus on the fear. Thank you.

You are always so supportive. Guess I just need time to adjust, L. You're a sweetheart:) Keep your spirits up if you can, because yes, you're right, we have to take a stand.
