I love the various repetitions of "Jensen can't sleep" -- even if one hasn't experienced the movie/book, it's still apparent that this is not a good thing. I adore the original work, and you've more than done it justice. Brava!!
I'm so happy you think I've done it justice - much as I wanted to write for the movie, I didn't feel I had the time to write a long treatment which left me hoping to catch the mood and spirit of the piece:)
I've never seen the movie, and now I really want to. Would love to read the whole story, but then again I like how this leaves it open to interpretation.
I remember watching the movie years ago sick in bed, unable to sleep, and I still remember the wonderful atmosphere and how it made me feel, and what you've done with it, the way you've captured it, is just beautiful, and definitely reminds me of the movie while still remaining original and fucked up in its own way.
This was BRILLIANT and I loved every single word. *happy sigh*
Love hearing of your original watching of the movie. I was already a big Bowie fan, and a vampire fan, and this just sounded so artsy to me, and I loved it, still do :) I was definitely trying to put my own fucked up spin on this J2 story (who doesn't love screwed-up J2?) but keep to the spirit of the movie too. I'm so glad you loved it:)))
This was so well written. Just gorgeous and visceral and wow! I've never seen what this is based on (and it has Bowie in it?!). I shall have to right this wrong. Loved this, it was amazing.
YES, Bowie. He's in it for all too short a period but he's mesmerizing nonetheless. Hope you do get to watch the movie! I love that you thought it was well-written and called the story visceral, thanks - makes my day:)
hey babes, thanks for the comment - glad to hear from you, ALWAYS AND FOREVER. Still trying to get over these meds, ugh, or I'd have written you more. re the story: it was short but it was a good exercise for me and I enjoyed it, and I'm very happy you think it worked my smoops:)

The flavor of the piece is just so perfect, echoes the film perfectly while taking a totally different path. Deftly done, Petal!
