Vanquished

The cold hits Juliet’s skin like a physical blow as Kate moves off from on top of her. For a second, Kate freezes mid-movement, then she slowly comes to rest at Juliet’s side on the narrow bed. The cold is immediately replaced by the warmth of a human body next to her. But Juliet knows better than to get too comfortable,
