review: The Wounded Hawk

It's near four am and I just finished The Wounded Hawk. Why does Sara Douglass have to be such a frakkingly addictive author? because what doesn't irritate me delights me. Douglass' problem is that she creates incredibly believable flawed characters. Even the bad guys have these moral compasses and you spend enough time in their heads to start to kind of want them to win. And then you are all conflicted. And it isn't even like the happy Oh I Don't Know Who I Want To Win, it's the Dear God Who Can I Trust? Who Can I Like? But This Book Is So Good!! I Have To Chose!!

...basically she's worth the drama she causes.

I need to read more of her. I pretty much hated Yaqob in Threshold up until they left the Abyss. He's such an idiot!

(Must read Darkglass. And Wayfarer. And lots of other things too. <3)
