If you study abroad year-after-next, we'll be doing it at the same time, whoo! Do you know where you might want to go? (I'm thinking about Japan or the UK...but it probably depends on my major/minor.)

If I end up majoring in Japanese, then probably Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if Smith and UMass' exchange programs are involved with or related to each other, so we should totally see if we could aim for the same trip. 8D

Sey having manly hair all over her chest is old news.

No no, it was me with the manly chest hair! She was just there for some reason. There were other people too but I remember being particularly embarrassed that Sey was seeing my manly chest hair. I was like "crap, why didn't I shave this morning?"

Also your rats were cute in my dream ;o; I wanna meet them for real!

I've got a friend who just graduated who'd hoped to major in Japanese. She wound up getting a degree in anthropology with I believe a focus in east Asian studies. She now works at Starbucks and a public library.

Just my two cents, but I'd say that if you have a passion but don't have a good plan on turning it into a career -- and my love for computers marks me as one of the most fortunate people I know in this regard -- then pursue that passion as a hobby, not academically...because it's quite possible that you'll never be able to look at it the same way again after particularly horrendous classes or instructors, and it's fairly likely that you'll find the academic experience unrewarding. Then again, if you can get something worked out where you actually go to Japan, that might mitigate all that.

I'm definitely not trying to say not to follow your dreams, but school, I've learned, isn't about dreams. Or maybe mine just sucks :-p
