musings on my androgynous-train-stranger turned new friend.

She's an avid reader and an intellectual stuck in the body of a pothead community college-bound skater boy foster kid. Go figure. Where do I find these ones? Oh right, on an eastbound NJ Transit train to Penn Station ( Read more... )

Indeed, it is the same for many people. I find that more people in the geekdom are prone to have friends in many a clique.

I tried to bring my High school friends and college friends together, with an anime buddy there too. Everyone was friendly, but eventually they all split up until we had to leave. Was really wierd. Will try this again, but with different groups. Should be fun expiriment. :)

I understand completely. For some reason, it's the same for me. The wind, and the rush. Rollercoasters and swings = my favourite things ever. =.X Swing buddies, Y/Y?

Holy god yes I'm glad someone gets it! Have you ever been on Nitro at Six Flags in NJ? It is pretty much the best coaster ever.. there's only a lap bar and no shoulder restraints to hold you back, and I figure it's pretty much the closest I'm ever going to get to flying. It's such a rush.

We should totally find somewhere secret to set up a rope swing when I come back in the spring. 8D

Oh, well, in this case I DO know what she's like, since we smoked the first time we hung out. Which was fine, but every time hanging out again has come up it's been paired with something to do with blunts and I'm like "..do we have to do that every time?" I dunno, I see pot the same way I see drinking-- rad every once in a while, but excessive when you need it for any social situation ever.

Eh, I think I'll probably just be honest with her and be like "hey listen, I like enjoying my friends' company without being high all the time." I'd probably hang out with her regardless, I just won't partake. We'll work something outtt.

Okay Kasai, I kind of resent you using "community college-bound" as inherently negative and unable to go hand-in-hand with "avid reader" or "intellectual." Some of us go there, not because we're unintelligent, but to eventually transfer to a university, or because we are poor. >__> Not trying to bitch, but the preconceptions of community college attendees really bothers me.

That being said, yeah, everyday stoners have never been the best company for me, either. I'm the same way with people, in that I can mix between very different groups... which makes getting all of my friends together difficult, because not all of them would like each other.

Oh no, no offense meant, I know a number of people who go to community college and I don't mean to make it sound negative. It's just that in her case, she's got the abilities to get into a really good school but she's just not driven enough and doesn't apply herself enough so she's settling for community college. Buuut I understand how the preconceptions of a CC can get annoying, I know I was raised on "do better in school unless you want to end up at BCC blah blah" but I've since realized it's really not a bad place.

Yeahhh getting my two main groups of friends together is always.. interesting. And will probably not happen again for a while. x_x

Haha I just editted my joke. I had it as "clam" but changed it to "chlam" because it's funnier.

Anyway.. ouch. ;__; I hope you're doing okay and not destroying yourself too much. I still have ~AWESOME CHRISTMAS PRESENT~ planned (though realistically knowing me you probably won't get it until after Christmas hahaha) and I hope that'll help cheer you up. You can put it at your station at work and think all the time about how awesome I am. Anyway I love you, hang in there. ; ~;
