Snow Days!

I've been working from home the last three days as Portland has been covered in snow.
So, while I got to stick around and get plenty of work done, all those fun meetings I would usually have got canceled or rescheduled. I did, though, get to mostly finish my awesome MS Word manipulation / conversion to PDF program. As I had to put in acres of ( Read more... )

Geez. That video is ridiculous. It doesn't even look like much of a slant, but the cars sure keep tumbling.

To everyone's credit, the pedestrians seemed to take it all in stride.

People were generally helpful and courteous during the snow. Portland just doesn't have the infrastructure in place to deal with it well and people here never really drive in it. City buses were getting stuck left and right for a while.

It snowed for about 6 hours, dumping around 4" on average. And the city was shut down for the better part of two days.

Can I add this to the top 10 reasons why I want to live in Portland? Mmmmm snow. I <3 snow, especially when the people around me don't know how to deal with it! :)

I'm with you on loving snow. But I don't know if I want people around me to not know how to deal with it to the extent the people in the video didn't know!

Hey, do you know where in town those car accidents were happening? I mean, there's a lot of places that are hilly here, but... Just curious.
P.S. That first SUV driver was really stupid. What a terrible driver.

That was at SW Salmon and 20th. Yes, there's a hill there. But it's funnier when you can't tell!

We had a good time. Rachel's work was closed for two days and I was working from home. On top of that, other people had Monday off for Martin Luther King's Day. So this week was not very productive. It was fun, though! Everyone was around Wednesday and we ended up having to run the dishwasher three times. People made banana bread and scones and an apple crisp.

Good times!

Oh, man. That's fun to watch. It would however, suck to be the owners of any of those cars - unless of course they're offered places in the spectacular new show "Cars on Ice"
