I'm pretty sure they mean its a festival giving thanks for the success of johnnys world. Japan does HAVE a Thanksgiving in November but its really a non-event and just an excuse to get off work. They don't really have any concept of what it means in western countries. Anything can technically be a 感謝祭 if you're thankful and wanna throw a party.

I agree with silvertsubasa. It is Johnny-san's personal "Thanksgiving".

In France, we have no "thanksgiving", but in the US it is a big holiday, held oddly on the last Thursday of November. It is supposed to recall the first settlers gratefulness [for Indian's gifts and their harvest]. I only know of Canada as having a similar celebration.
