I wonder why you use a mix when aglio e olio is so simple! It takes about 5 minutes to prepare. And then you can dose the chili to taste [for me, the less, the better].

Have you ever tried lemon butter sauce for spaghetti? It is lovely in summer.

The fresh chilis are giving too much trouble to work with them (too hot to start with [don't want to use hygenic gloves at cause more waste] / only avaible in bigger packs - what to do with the rest? Can't dry them properly in the flat, so the oven? Waste of energy...)

But really, after my few experiences with fresh chilis I try to avoid them as much as possible. They are nice, but their hotness is in my hands for days. No shower or bath can help that -.-;;;;;

So... I'll just use convenient convenience products *gggg* (where of course no energy was wasted when producing them... sigh... I just use garlic and rosemary + parsely ^^;;;)

We usually have lemon butter sauce with fish at home, not with pasta, but yeah, I can imagine that it tastes good ^^

I do understand about the chilis. I cheat and just use a minuscule amount of cayenne powder. I really do not care for hot peppers. In my opinion, they mask the taste of other things. No doubt useful in some places!

I prefer herbs to peppers as well. I use bay leaf, especially for stews and various winter dishes. I have rosemary, thyme, chives and oregano in my tiny garden. I plant basil in June, to use through the summer and freeze at the end.

You add shredded basil and chopped parsley to the butter sauce on the pasta, it is really quite nice for a summer change. It goes with very thin spaghetti best.
