Waltzing makes me dizzy

Jun 03, 2012 20:09

NOTE: I fell on my head when I was 12 years old and since then my sense of balance is totally out of order ;_;Carsten and I are slowly working on "how to dance" - and of course started with a Walzer ( Read more... )

I see wedding!fandom continues. :-)

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time! I'm not even laughing too hard at how adorable this sounds. You poor waltzing thing, you.

And we even have a DRAMALAMA in the forum!
(honestly, that girl is nuts, sadly she doesn't even notice - or she's a troll... Her 1st maid of honour stops talking to her and says she won't attend the wedding = something serious must have happened. Troll wants to sue her, because the name of 1st maid of honour is on the invitations and she needs to print new ones. Then she goes and makes her new maid of honour SIGN A CONTRACT stating what her tasks are. WTF?)

It's very generous of you to keep your laughing under control ;-)

A www haha poor you two. Here they teach the basic ballroom dances (waltz, foxtrot, tango) in elementary school, again in middle school and then once more in upper high school when there is ballroom dances like our style of prom. Pretty much everyone should know how to dance. I like waltz, so simple and easy and no need to think while dancing. Just step back with left and turn with three steps and move. Lol

Finland spends much more of the gross national product on education than Germany :-)
Here, you can be happy if they teach swimming on your school (at least nowadays, it was still normal 20 years ago); well, personally I think swimming IS more important than dancing, though dancing is important on some other level too.

As I said, it's not the steps, it's my broken sense of balance. And that can't be repaired ;_;

Aww well they teach swimming in school too. All kinds of things cost here pe is made to show what you could have as hobby outside school so we did fancy things like boxing and fencing too, skating, baseball, gymnastics, football, swimming, running, tennis, volleyball well everything you can think. Table tennis ^^¥ and teachers get very low wage

But waltz is like the easiest dance out of all. Especially for woman, just follow hahahaha so Carsten has to do all the work. Besides if you get dizzy when turning, do it with four steps not three. It's hell lot slower like that.

You know i just want to come there and teach you both cos this is frustrating.

*repeats herself* :-)

It's not the steps, it's my broken sense of balance (due to an accident)
Even if you were here, you can't mend that one ^^;;;; (same reason why I have to sit front row in cars and can't use a swing etc)

I don't think looking your partner in the eye is the way to go, romantic as it sounds. Best way to get vertigo. You need on the contrary to focus on a stable point in the room. If you look at professional dancers, you will notice it is what they do. That is what I was taught, and it works!

Plan B is to dance something else than a waltz...

I think so too @romantic vs. sensible

Only that Carsten's shoulder is at my eye level _._

Wann kommst du genau an?

freu' mich schon :)

Awwww~ ;_;

Staring at a point in the distance really is the best, though, if you're getting dizzy :C
Maybe try looking half of the time at him, and then switching to something else when you start getting too dizzy?
Or will that make it worse? ;A;

GOOD LUCK! ;~;

I'll just have to grow another 10 cm and then I can look over his shoulder into the distance *ggg*

Thank you!
