Entscheidung wurde schnell gefällt ^_^ Meine Lieblingslösung (Flair Roman) kam zwar nicht dran, da war ich mir auch zu 98% sicher, dass Carsten die nicht gefällt, aber dann zumindest mein Vorschlag B. C-F hatte ich auch noch parat ^^;;;
I do like the idea of stones with cuneiform... at least it would be original.
I am like you, I detest Times New Roman, and also Arial. Let us know which you choose!
How come you had trouble with straight cuts? You just need to align the sheet[s] with the rear of the paper cutter. Mine is practically an antique and still works fine.
Yeah, just the shipping costs would be a killer ^^;;;
Arial is really just okay for work-related things, as it is THE font that can display most letter. We have funny languages with even funnier letters here at times (Lithuanian!) and the so-far preferred Helvetica isn't able to display all of those -.-;;;
For out cutting machine: It seems as if there is a curve in the blade itself. We used to cut book with 400 pages+ (= 200 sheets) and it seems that over the years the blade "reshaped" itself. But, IIRC it was always like this, ever since I started working here, and you just need to remember this fact BEFORE cutting the pages, then you can perform the cut in a way that the out-of-shape blade won't have much influence.
I've always had a fondness for Garamond. It's simple but more interesting than Times New Roman to me. I would either use 12-pt (smaller than 12-pt Times New Roman) when I was getting too close to the page limit or 12.5 (larger but not obviously so) when I was not close enough. Plus it's what Harry Potter is printed in here in the States. ^_^
