Of course you are still excited about your orchid, I would be!

I read your recipes, and the potato one lost me when they asked for homemade vegetable broth. Lol. Unfortunately I don't have a waffle maker. But the recipe sounds essentially like a potato pancake, I am sure it could be made that way.

I usually just cook my asparagus in the microwave. i think it preserves the taste best.

Whenever some recipe asks for homemade broth, I've decided that the broth that comes dried and in small glasses workes just as well. Of course it's more artificial, but... _._

Oh, I've never used the microwave to cook before (only to re-heat food *g*). Usually I'm steaming the asparagus.

I can't say I cook much with the microwave, but I use it whenever I cook asparagus or artichokes. You need very little water, and it's done fast. Works great with frozen vegetables too.

I use it for bacon, you get nice crisp bacon and the fat just goes on paper towels: less cleanup, and you don't need to watch it. Good also for melting chocolate or fixing a quick bowl of oatmeal.
