deine Kollegen erinnern mich an meine Mum, als ich ihr erzählt hab, dass ich mich für September für ein Praktikum in Tokyo beworben hab xD "Aber... Aber... warum denn genau dahin, wo das passiert ist????" "Mum, Tokyo ist nicht direkt neben Fukushima - auch wenn es sich in den deutschen Medien so anhört..."

Ignore your colleagues: they believe all the sensational media reports, and those government cautions [they [govts] just don't want to be blamed in case anything at all happens].

I am flying to Japan the 12th. I have looked at all the reports, including those of Americans or British people in Tokyo and elsewhere right now. Life in Tokyo is normal. As long as you don't go to Fukushima, you will be OK. A close friend is going at more or less the same time on business, and decided not to postpone her trip either.

Yes, that's what I think too (and well... I'm going to Japan in SEPTEMBER, which feels like it's ages from now _._ )
