vc_mel and me just booked a trip to Centerparcs next week (22nd - 26th).
We're going to
De Eemhof. Close to Amsterdam and Utrecht and... I'm a happy person now. It's been 8 years since I was in The Netherlands ^^;; (Now... brush up my Dutch or trust in their ability to speak at least five European languages fluently?)

But, it's okay. I was able to read books after learning the language for only a year. And we are talking about Terry Pratchett here.
At some points the grammar is different, but really, for Germans it's not the most difficult language to learn ^_^

You speak Dutch? Eh, you should speak Dutch to me sometime. ^^ And I'm fairly sure people will speak English there or German... (though maybe not fluently).

Actually, I've pretty much forgotten everything I ever knew. I'm still able to understand a bit, but don't ask me to say anything beyond "Gooie morgen" (and as I've lived in Groningen, I might pronounce words that way ^^;;; )
Heck, my Japanese is much, much better than my Dutch atm *sniff*

You lived in Groningen? Uwaa, so did I. Not for long, though, just three months or so, but I really loved the city.
