HOLIDAYS ^_____________^

Sep 15, 2008 13:04

vc_mel and me just booked a trip to Centerparcs next week (22nd - 26th).

We're going to De Eemhof. Close to Amsterdam and Utrecht and... I'm a happy person now. It's been 8 years since I was in The Netherlands ^^;; (Now... brush up my Dutch or trust in their ability to speak at least five European languages fluently?)

Wow, thats great! I wasnt in the nederlands for ages either, and I'm living not that far from there xD Oh, and you speak dutch? I wanted to learn it at university, is it difficult, grammar wise (the fact, that i basically have no big problems to understand it, for it is kinda similar to German makes me worried, if I'm not underestimating it...)? Wasn't sure if it wouldnt be too much work beside Japanese (and ended up working that day anyways xD), but I'm not doing to many courses this semester and I really would like to add another foreign language to my repertoire xD

Actually, I haven't spoken a single word in Dutch since I've returned from there ^^;;; (Studied and worked there for 1 1/2 years)

But, it's okay. I was able to read books after learning the language for only a year. And we are talking about Terry Pratchett here.
At some points the grammar is different, but really, for Germans it's not the most difficult language to learn ^_^

From my experience with Centerparcs, English and even German is usually enough. X3v

Die Brücke ist nur Sonntag dicht? Dann wäre das nicht so dramatisch... Aber ja, Deutzer Brücke ist DIE Brücke in Köln, ne?

Uwaa you're vacationing in my country XD (yes, I'm aware vacationing isn't a word)

You speak Dutch? Eh, you should speak Dutch to me sometime. ^^ And I'm fairly sure people will speak English there or German... (though maybe not fluently).

*nods*
And I'm soooooooooo going to buy lots and lots of stroopwaffeltjes and vla ^^;;;;;;;

Actually, I've pretty much forgotten everything I ever knew. I'm still able to understand a bit, but don't ask me to say anything beyond "Gooie morgen" (and as I've lived in Groningen, I might pronounce words that way ^^;;; )
Heck, my Japanese is much, much better than my Dutch atm *sniff*

Ah, I got my friend in Japan addicted to stroopwafels so now she goes to the international store to buy them every once in a while XD

You lived in Groningen? Uwaa, so did I. Not for long, though, just three months or so, but I really loved the city.
