In honor of the forthcoming Smashing Pumpkins album (with an impressive first single, I might add), MySpace is having this SP cover project, where old SP singles are covered by bands like Panic! At the Disco, Hawthorne Heights, The Academy Is..., +44, a few others, and then Ben Kweller.

All these covers are pretty much awful.

I'm just beginning to listen to these, as an exercise of my patience... but Kweller has replicated Corgan's tone deaf live performances, so far.

I think I listened to them all; I'm actually impressed that I knew all the SP songs, but dang, those were terrible.

I don't know why I know this, but apparently Mark Hoppus really liked the country code for the UK when he visited the country with blink 182, and the guy is clearly predisposed towards numbers in his band names.
