I just found this essay on tumblr and thought it was a pretty interesting read.

It's kind of text-wall-y.

OK, so I know there has been massive fan upheaval over the latest episode of Glee; with much of it stemming from ‘Klaine vs. Kurtofsky’. Personally I’m on Team Kurtofsky, though I know there are several reasons people are vehemently against it. I think there’s been a bit of a panic considering both characters have only ( Read more... )

I think all these compelling arguments are starting to sway me toward wanting Kurt/Dave to happen at some point on the show. :O

So I totally don't watch Glee enough to form a true opinion (haha), but I agree with everything this post says. Like, really. A gay jock who is trying to over compensate for his gayness by acting really straight is a storyline that is usually glossed over. So, yeah. I'd be interested in seeing Karofsky/Hummel become canon.

I don't think I've been that invested in a pairing in Glee before NBK. Season 1 and up to Rocky Horror, I was only watching the show for the LULz and the music, but NBK was such a game changer :D

I mentioned before during a NBK discussion that Karofsky was this one-dimensional bully that was hardly memorable, but now that they've given this character layers, I'm suddenly 1000% more interested in the show, particularly Kurt/Karofsky's storyline.

I really hope they plan on addressing Karofsky's bullying and self-hating homophobia, and not just in 1 episode too. It is not something that can be resolved so quickly, and I'd like very much if he can grow into a character most viewers can empathise, and eventually like (and hopefully root for as Kurt's love interest ;D )

Same here! Glee was only for fun and music. I was not interested in character development. I never had looking for the Glee Fandom... I thought everybody there was more like litles puppets...

buuuuuut... this was before NBK!

Damn Dave! It was all you fault!!

Ditto this, I had never been deeply invested in a Glee pairing before Kurtofsky well except maybe Brittana but even though I liked it I didn't obsess over it like I do Kurtofsky. It was all for the lulz and the O HAY OHIO SHOW CHOIR ON TV. But now I really care about this show.

Adding myself to the list. Though now I don't know how I'll go back to how it was before if this storyline ends and there is no more Dave character on the show.

I love it, I really do. it says most of the things I have been thinking and why I find their relationship - romantic or not, enthralling

and why I also think that with just one scene Dave Karofsky became the most interesting character on this show

the video is great as well

PS: the last paragraph makes me think that RM is one lying liar and has no idea what the hell will happen in any given future episode anymore then we do :(

I agree. That kiss is one of the main reasons I decided to start watching regularly after a year or so of catching glimpses of episodes.

I need to see this story develop and, eventually, come to a conclusion that doesn't feel artificial. Why do I feel like I'm going to be epically disappointed by the end of the arc though? sigh.
