Great story, but I should have taken the Angst warning more seriously... you have perfectly described his feelings of emptiness and the way he loses his grip on reality (takes me back a few years ago). The ending make me hopeful for a cheerier follow-up, maybe ?

I totally sympathize about skimming warnings, or taking them more seriously. :( The other day I was tired and about to head to bed, so I skimmed the summary and warnings on a fic in order to be able to go to sleep sooner. It wound up having hardcore infidelity in it, which is a personal trigger. Cue midnight, and I'm sitting there sobbing like a child. I'm sorry I made you feel bad, but pleased that it was written effectively? If that makes sense? *hugs*

This story takes me back a few years, as well. I'm glad I captured some of those feelings and notions and sensations, but hope it wasn't too jarring for you. There may well be a follow-up, though! And it might be cheerier! :D

The fact the story touched me is the proof of your great writing skills, don't worry (^ u ^) The erotic parts of your story really did positively compensate the more angsty parts. That's why we read stories, to make us think and sometimes view some of our experiences in a new light, or remember some good moments. Hope to read some more stories from you soon.

"That's why we read stories, to make us think and sometimes view some of our experiences in a new light, or remember some good moments." -love this! Very true. Why read if it's not going to touch me on an emotional level?

WOW!! ran to read Figment first. Feeling very emotionally drained but in a good way! What an interesting journey you took Dave (and us) on. Love how raw and actually painful it was. Yet there is hope at the end. Shattered is exactly how I felt reading this. I could feel his pain and fear so realistically. I like that both guys are scared and cautious of each other, great parallels. Hope you continue in the verse. I'd like to see where you take it.

Oh, man, reading Figment and then Shatter one after the other would be killer! D: My sympathies! I hope you're not too angsted-out. They're both really heavy stories, but in different ways I think. I'm delighted, however, that you enjoyed both stories and that the journey was effective for you. ("Raw" = BEST COMPLIMENT EVER OMG). I'm pleased that the stories affected you emotionally, and that they left an impact.

I think that Kurt and Dave are both just... scared little boys, reacting radically differently. It would be really interesting to see where that relationship could go. :D

Thank you so much for your lovely words, and for taking the time to write this comment. <3 <3 You're a complete star!
