This song is amazing. I've been listening to it on repeat since Friday.

It's also one of my favorite Beatles songs, so I was predisposed to liking it going in. That it was Chris is just a plus. (A very very very welcome plus!)

Yep, one of my all time Beatles songs too. I like this even better than Chris's rendition of I Want To Hold Your Hand.

I heard if for the first time a few days ago and I love it. I love the uber-simple arrangement and clean vocals, after hearing nothing but "Auto-Tune Warbler!Kurt" for months. And I love how his voice can blow me away without him even having to go way up into his upper register (a la Don't Cry for Me Argentina). Chris has such a soothing tone to his voice; I could just listen to it forever.

Much better than the Candles duet; IMO, both Chris and Darren sound hideous on that one.

I think Chris sounds >>>>>>>>>> better than Darren on the duet, but it's not my favorite. (Chris would have sounded a lot better if he hadn't had to hold back so Darren could keep up.)

I just thought both of their voices sounded paper-thin and electronic, as though someone had gone in and stripped all the organic qualities out their singing. :(

I'm hoping it gets better in HD. *crosses fingers*

I honestly can think one thing at the moment in terms of upcoming songs is the urge to punch, they completely ruined Pink's Raise Your Glass. Its just so... UGH! Wrong. Wrong. Wrong!

Seriously all I can think right now is pissed songs on how Glee ruined one of my favorite singers songs, and one of my favorite songs in general. UGH.

I'm so glad to hear Chris again, but this was a little underwhelming. His voice is so smooth and beautiful, but I kept waiting for the climax of the song, where there's a note that really shines or something, but it was all just the same the whole way through. :/

It's not Chris's fault. It's that song. Hence why I don;'t like it. It's boring. IMHO. :-)

Oh, I definitely don't blame him; I'd be very surprised if he had any say in the composition of the song. It's just too bad that they didn't do more with it, especially when Chris can do some really amazing things with his voice.

"I'd be very surprised if he had any say in the composition of the song."

Well no, since it was written in 1968, and that was well before he was born. Heck, I'm old as dirt, and it was written before *I* was born, LOL! :D

Like specialagentldy, says, it's the song, which I can understand is not everyone's cup of tea. If they were going to go crazy with the arrangement and have Chris do the vocal gymnastics he's so good at, I would MUCH prefer they choose a different song. Messing too much with the arrangement of "Blackbird" would, IMO, be a travesty against music.

I wish they'd used the arrangement in "across the universe" I love how it was sung in that movie, more slow, drawn out and heartfelt.
