It would be silly for him not to be praying behind the scenes for Kurtofsky. Kurt is pretty much the most popular character on the show, and being able to play his boyfriend would really bump his character from a secondary character to a main one. Regardless of how he feels about the appropriateness of Dave and Kurt getting together on the show after all the bullying, it could only be a great thing for his career.
