I grew up on John Denver albums (vinyl). Well, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, and ABBA.

Sounds... hm, interesting. Oh, there was hardly or no country music or American based folk when I was very little, which I guess is understandable seeing the situation in Poland in the 80s. There was ABBA though, lol. Frankly, I only started liking folk music in my middle 20s. ... presumably because some of the songs are such tearjerkers and the videos are too... I like the really natural sounding ones like this one most though. John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot... I find those deeply touching, makes me want to move into the woods, and be simple and happy... x)

My mother was a singer. A glorious one. She gave voice and piano lessons in the house when I was a little kid and there was always music.
