Hitzl's come out

Jan 08, 2014 13:19

Ah, my single greatest love in German football beside Oliver Kahn - Thomas Hitzlsperger.
You know what I tentatively said ages ago? Of course I was being stupid right then, but still.

why is this my life, love is, football, bloody perfection, existential questions

Well done to Hitzlsperger, too. :-) (I didn't include this in my original reply, because I wanted to be absolutely sure that this was exactly who you were referring to!)

Haha! That's why I added his name at some point. I thought it was a bit inexplicit :)

I just saw about the coming out on a Dutch news site. Good for the man, but what a pity he had to struggle for so long against himself.

Also good to hear from you. Now I read about you being alone in your own flat, I realise I never managed to do that, I went from home to a couple of places I shared with other people (though I had a room of my own for the whole of 2 years in the total of my 52 years) and after that I went straight to living with the person I'm still with.

But I do get you about all that work. Because I write I'm always at home and that means distraction after distraction, and still missing out on fandom and such.

True, though he seems happy and satisfied now, and he's got a great many years before him yet. I read today, in an interview with Joachim Loew, that he was thinking about coming out before the Euros 2012, but reconsidered in the end.

I find that nice. It's not always great to live alone. Personally, i have trouble to make it a 'home'. It's vacant and I don't feel like getting or doing more than I absolutely need or have to. I'm obviously no one who settles or nests, although I wish for it so bad. And living with other people makes places more homely, I suppose. The more if it's people you love. In the end, I suppose this is truly what makes a place a home. As corny as that may sound, lol.

Indeed, too many distractions x/// and it doesn't help that I am lazy by nature :(((

May I ask a question? Do you truly still feel like you're interested in the fandom (e.g. football slash)? Or is that sort of fading?

Interesting question. It's there and it's not there. I'm mostly here because I care about the fellow fans, even if it's only just for reading they are doing fine and say hi to the familiar names. I watch football, oddly enough, and when I see my brother we happily talk about how Feyenoord is doing in the Dutch competition.
But, things have changed and they wont change back. That's life, I guess.
And you?

I read about it in Tumblr and actually I went to elgrafico.cl to check out if a Chilean media put it into the spotlight.

Hitzl wasn't so notorious as the rest of the crew ( I think ) but with this he won my heart (well... he won my heart before but now even more)
I was so happy that I jumped and I screamed loud xD... even I almost cry. I am so happy and cheerful for him... because I dreamed this moment since the day 1 I opened this LJ account.
Peace!

It is a good thing and there are no two ways of seeing it :)) There are enough LGBT people who struggle with their sexuality, so of course it's great every time someone famous gives a positive example, no? :) The fact that I always liked and respected him just makes it nicer for me personally, it makes me feel prouder on a more personal level, if that makes any sense. I mean it's always that way, I like someone and they turn out gay xD Just kidding.

Well, maybe will be not so epic as the one featured in "Bridge" but even with humbleness is a great moment. I cried when I watched Tom Daley's vid. He was like freestyling his speech a lil'bit and his voice tone was so cute :D I loved it a lot!

Maybe the next one can be a Southamerican..... :D <3 who knows?
