I'm happy you're still part of football slash fandom, even if only occasionally. Things change all the time, and people come and go, but I kind of get attached to seeing certain names.
But then, I find myself at the very edge of fandom, combining hobby and what starts to look like an actual (be it extremely low paid) job.

Frankly... I've been wondering, because with all the fascinating that's going on in your writing career, I feel like I'm watching you moving away from the footie fandom. But maybe that's just me or looks like it because you're busy :)

(Also, I'm not judging the 'moving away' anymore, in case it sounds like it.)

No, it's something I'm noticing myself too, and with regret. Most of it is simply a matter of available time. Between writing my next novel and doing promotional work (read: guest blogs and Q and A's) the beloved fandom suffers.
Funny thing is, I do watch football, but perhaps with a somewhat different eye. (a weird mixture of still seeing the slashy fun, and realising I do want one of my next novels to be about the gay football fan)

Yes, I can imagine it's a lot work that keeps you occupied. But then this only means positve things.
Every once in a while you might still feel like taking a break and flex your fingers in the fandom with a drabble here or there; I mean if you already see the slashy bits... ;)

That does sound like an interesting situation to be in.
Of course a gay man watches a game and obviously needn't be above noticing the 'slashy fun' as well, haha.

Nah, don't worry ;) I'd be glad to erase this summer from my existence and never live two months like these (and the situation promises to stay difficult for as much time, I guess), but... it could have been worse. Way worse than that. So, whatever.

Oh, you know... men, it's horrible with them, same with women, and the more if you know them for so many years, and they've become a comfort because you watched them in sitcoms when you were a teenager, or even some time go, and now they're real hot celebs, and you still think of them in terms of warm affection... -__-
And I don't mean Jared Leto this time, lol!
