It's scary how much we in the general public don't get to hear the true stories because media only tells one part. This was very powerfully written and I really hope this will truly change how we behave, act towards others, and see the world going forward.

Much like your partner's entry, this was eye-opening for me. It's been so hard to know what the truth is lately, with different reports coming in of different things from different angles constantly.

It's one thing to understand, intellectually, what the truth of the situation is, but that's difficult to maintain when it feels like I'm being constantly gaslighted by everything I see online.

I appreciated this view from ground zero; hearing from someone who is there in the midst of everything.

Hello, and welcome to my journal... I apologize for not responding to this sooner... not surprisingly, I was in a bad place during the week I wrote this, and I haven't come back to it yet, because, honestly, I have a lot to add to it - I just put out what I was able to get within the deadline timeframe, within the intent to fill in the rest later, but I haven't been able to get back in the headspace for the rest yet. I realize that makes it not as timely, but I still am motivated to this for my sense of preserving our family's connection the these events... which doesn't really excuse my impolite lack of reply, but I hope it does at least make it understandable... I'm sure we're all still stinging from this.
