It's not a book, but Atanarjuat is a movie - written and directed by Inuit creators - that is based on an Inuit myth and also, a really amazing film (or so I thought when I saw about 10 years ago; I need to do a re-watch).

It might well be at least a worthy supplement to what you're looking for.

It's probably still available on video, but (since I started searching), it also seeems to be available for (legitimate) download here, along with a couple of sequels.
