You know, now that I'm in my binge of rereading The Chronicles of Narnia, I'm remembering how much I loved these books as a child and how amazingly comforting Aslan is as a character. Obviously, it was intentional, but I remember always waiting eagerly for Aslan to appear in each book as a child and was always just a little sad when he had to go ( Read more... )

I know! Especially Lucy's whole bit at the end of Dawn Treader where she tells Aslan that it's not losing Narnia, it's that she'll never be able to meet him again.

*happy sigh* I love Narnia to bits. I still remember crying at the stone table bit in LWW as a kid- I think it was the first book I cried at.
