In grad school, when I actually cared about what was being taught, I sat towards the front, usually second row. Wanted a desk in front of me to prop my feet on! Also, since I was in mathematics which involves a LOT of writing on the board, I wanted to be close enough to make sure I could see the subscripts and stuff.

There are only 3-6 students in my pathology classes, and we sit around the multi-headed microscope, so there's not much choice as to where can I sit.

Except in seminars, I still sit in the back, and fall asleep.
