I really liked it. I like that combo, I can see those two getting along well.

I did guess which guy it was, only because you mentioned "Lieutenant Abarai certainly expected it." In reference to Ichigo. So, when you spoke about his tattoos it eliminated most of them.

Ah, damn. That line I threw in at the last minute was meant to deflect ( when I see so many fics that depict Renji going batshit crazy in jealousy behind it, I couldn't *not* make the mention!:P)!

I did plan on eventually making a full one-shot with Shuuhei/Rukia. I've only come across a few, and they's all been angsty stuff involving Rukia not fitting in the Kuchiki clan or her loving his resemblance to Kaien, which I think is uncharacteristically insensitive of her character. Mine most likely will be more comedic, because I love comedy XD
