Neat idea. I've never been in an earthquake big enough to knock out power at all let alone one big enough to knock out that much. You set the mood very well. Scary and quiet and wondrous all at the same time.

It's the only time I remember being without power for more than an hour or two. It was 25 hours for us, a lot longer for some others around here. It added one more element of surreality to the whole thing. And it totally was the first time I saw stars like that. I wanted to go on about how astronauts and astronomers were born that morning as well, but felt like that might be overkill. ;)

Thanks for the comment!

Isn't it funny how the horrible and the beautiful can go together and its just mother nature at her best and worst. Actually the same could be said for the Doctor who is such a mixture of good and bad. This is a lovely fic, very vivid and well painted into our imaginations. Thank you

Yes, very true. And I think that the Doctor wanted to show Rose the beauty, often overlooked, that can be part of tragedy.

Thanks very much for your lovely comments. :)

Ha! Socal girl huh? ;-)

The stars were awesome. Never seen so many (at home) in my life.

Born and raised, yeah. Right down the hill from where this fic takes place.

And yeah, those stars were amazing.

Oh wow, I remember this quake! I'm still thankful for wire picture hangers :D

Gorgeous though! I love the little moments in between.

I remember it too, very clearly. Even though it was over half a lifetime ago! I'd love to do more little moments like these...especially sticking the Doctor and Rose in my experiences.

Thank you!
