*shrugs* I like GLMY better than I liked BLESS, 'nuff said :) Though I honestly didn't expect it as I thought I'd have had enough of the style after listening to COME ON so much. And I think metropolis is now one of my fav p'unk songs. As you said - it's intention from the start is obviously to be completely different than the original, they didn't try at all to repeat the erotic feeling. Instead, for me it sounds very... melancholic and I tink the loneliness is much more apparent here than in the original. I seriously love it, especially as HYDE P'UNK is doing something more with the guitar than just mashing some chords XDD Considering how amazing ken's part and eternal improvisations in the original are, it's only fitting :)
My only complaint with metropolis is actually T'EZ P'UNK's vocals. Not because I don't like how they sound, but because I know so very well by now that he is able to sing even better :(
Don't feel bad lol, I KNEW Metropolis P'unk style would be NOTHING like the original and with that said, I actually like it a bit, it's nicely mellow and Tetsu sounds pretty good! :3 But it's not a fav P'unk song, that's for sure. ^^;; Totally strange. XD
After 15 times of listening to GLMW, (or watching the PV 15 times, as I love it to bits lol) I grew to enjoy the song a lot more than I originally did, but it's definitely not a favorite either! :O You're not alone. :3
i like the P'Unk Metropolis better than GLMW. the latter just sounds too much like a rehash of tetsuya's singles last summer. and i have noted his little "Looking for Light" head bop on all performances and pv. 'nuff said
Metropolis is more poignant, less sexy. hyde did a good job on guitar, he doesn't try to compete with ken, but what he does fits the direction of tetsuya's vocals. want to see this one live and see how that play it there. the traditional "1-2-3-4" seemed just thrown in arbitrarily, but otherwise, one of their better p'unked versions to me from performance on cd, arrangement and possible ability to give a good live.
in answer to the above remark, "tetchan is too innocent to sound erotic..." no, i don't think so. i think if he wanted to, he could be as sexy as anyone. but, that just isn't his thing, so he doesn't. maybe he saves all that for private life. ^_^

I'm guessing L'Arc will release 1 more single before an album... and I have faith for that next single, hoping it's a more rockish Ken song~ :]
